Course Overview

Stents are used to provide patency from obstructions and strictures in the GI tract. This course will review the nursing implications for assisting with stent placement.

Learning Objective

  • Review indications and applications for placement of stents
  • Define the types of available stents
  • Review clinical manifestations requiring stent placement
