Course Overview

This course will review the steps involved in performing Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) as well as the clinical indications and applications of these procedures.

Learning Objective

  • List clinical indications for EMR/ESD
  • Discuss advantages/disadvantages of EMR and ESD
  • Identify relevant GI anatomy and tumor staging
  • Describe EMR methodology
  • List complications associated with endoscopic resection procedures
