Course Overview

Open to individuals who work with the Olympus flexible endoscopy equipment. This course helps familiarize you with essential ins and outs of an endoscope. You will learn about basic components and troubleshooting techniques for the Endoworks program, basic video troubleshooting techniques, equipment design and processes as well as proper maintenance and cleaning.

Purpose Statement

This educational activity has been developed for GI nurses and associates who have expressed a need to increase their knowledge base of Olympus endoscope construction, Olympus Endoworks program, Olympus video system components, care and maintenance offlexible endoscopes.

Learning Objective

  • Demonstrate features of the Endoworks program
  • Discuss troubleshooting techniques for the Endoworks program
  • Discuss Olympus endoscope imaging technology and construction.
  • Describe how to visually inspect an endoscope for abnormalities, potential repairs, and possible impact on endoscope function.
  • Describe the proper handling, packaging and shipping of damaged endoscopes.
  • Discuss the proper set up and operation of Olympus video system components in relationship to endoscopic procedures.
  • Describe proper pre-cleaning and leakage testing of Olympus flexible endoscopes.

Registered participants for Olympus University courses must provide us with their cancellation notice five business days prior to the program date. “No-Show” registrations will be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee for their catering/meeting expenses. This policy includes Olympus Full/ Value-Added Service Contract customers. A course registration can be transferred within a facility at anytime. Please call the Olympus University Registration Help Desk if you need to cancel your attendance
